The online reservation form enables you to request a reservation from Scholar. The reservation will not be finalised until you receive confirmation of the reservation from Scholar.
Approval Time
Reservation requests will usually be confirmed within 48 hours.
Securing an Apartment (Holding Deposit)
This payment must be paid as soon as the reservation is confirmed:
- > 3 months stay: 2 weeks deposit is needed. Payment is transferred to 2 weeks in advance rent payment on arrival (becomes last two weeks rent).
- 1- < 3 months stay: 1 week deposit is needed. Payment is transferred to 1 week in advance rent payment on arrival (becomes last weeks rent).
- < 1 month stay: one night deposit is needed. Payment is transferred to accommodation account on arrival.
Cancellations
SHORT TERM STAY
Cancellations received 48 hours prior (low season) or 7 days prior (high season*) to the date of arrival shall not be subject to any penalties. Should a cancellation be received within 48 hours prior (low season) or 7 days prior (high season) to the date of arrival, or should the reservation not be taken (a no-show), then a one night room rate charge will be applied during low season and two nights room charge during high season.
LONG TERM STAY
Applicants can cancel their application however penalties do apply. Written cancellation notice is always required and a minimum of four weeks notice is requested. Cancellations received four weeks or more prior to your arrival incur a penalty fee of equal to 50% of any Holding Deposits made. Application Fees are always non-refundable. For cancellations received within four weeks prior to arrival there will not be any refunds of any payments made.
Early Termination Fee
A fee of two weeks rent applies to Long Term Occupants (staying more than one month) who break the term of their License to Occupy. Short Term Occupants (staying less than one month) who shorten their length of stay are liable for the appropriate tariff under the current schedule of rates, which is based on the total term of the license.
Lengthening your Stay
Should the term of the license be lengthened, the appropriate tariff under the current schedule of rates will be charged from the day the new License to Occupy Agreement is signed.
* The High Season is consistent with all school/ university holidays and public holidays.
