Application fee
Q - How much is the application fee?
A - $150. Payable only if application is successful.
Q - Does the application fee apply to me?
A - The Application Fee applies to all applications for stays of more than 1 month.
Q - When is it due?
A - It is due as soon as your booking has been confirmed.
Q - Is it refundable?
A - No- as soon as an application is processed the Application Fee cannot be refunded.
Deposit
Q - How much is the Holding Deposit?
A - For less than one month stay- one night deposit; for one to less than three months stay- one week deposit and for more than three months stay- two weeks deposit.
Q - What am I paying for?
A - You are paying to secure your apartment booking. This payment is automatically transferred to your accommodation payments on your arrival date. For stays of more than one month this becomes your one/ two week 'in advance' payment (effectively becomes your last weeks rent).
Q - When is it due?
A - It is due as soon as your booking is confirmed.
Q - Is it refundable?
A - For long term stay (more than 1 month), cancellations received four weeks or more prior to your proposed arrival date incur a penalty fee of equal to 50% of any Holding Deposits made. For cancellations received within four weeks prior to arrival there will not be any refund of any payments made. For short term stay (less than 3 months), cancellations received 48 hours prior (Low Season) or 7 days prior (High Season*) to the Arrival Date shall not be subject to any penalties. Should a cancellation be received within 48 hours prior (low season) or 7 days prior (high season) to the Arrival Date, or should the reservation not be taken (a no-show), then a one night room rate charge will be applied during Low Season and two nights room charge during High Season. *High Season is consistent with all school/ university holidays and all New Zealand public holidays.
Bond
Q - How much do I need to pay for the Bond?
A - For one month to three months stay the Bond is equal to two weeks rent. For stays of more than 3 months the Bond is equal to four weeks rent.
Q - When is it due?
A The 2 Week/ 4 Week Bond is due on the day of arrival.
Q - Will I get the entire Bond back at the end of my stay?
A - The entire Bond will be refunded within 10 working days of your departure date (subject to the final apartment inspection).
Key Deposit
Q - How much is the Key Deposit?
A - $200. Payable on arrival (when you receive your key/ access card) for all stays of less than one month.
Q - Is it refundable?
A - Yes- you may pick up your Key Deposit Return on departure (will be refunded in the same tender as it was paid).
Q - Do I have to pay my rent in advance (Long Term stays only)?
A - Yes- the acommodation payments must be paid at least one week in advance for stays of 1- Less 3 months or two weeks in advance for stays of 3 months or longer (for the entirety of your stay).
General
Q - What is included in my rental costs?
A - An power/ water/ gas limit (per room; any excess usage is payable per month), a linen package and a linen changeover once per week (Long Term stays). Also, you do not have to pay for the initial phoneline connection and local calls are free.
Q - What other costs are involved?
A - Sundry charges, on a weekly basis, including any phone call charges, extra washing services, extra room servicing, etc. and, on a monthly basis, including phone account fee ($35), internet account fee ($40) and any excess power/ water/ gas usage. The washing machine and dryer in the basement floor laundromat cost $3 per load each (3 x $1 coins). For stays of more than three months there is also a Departure Cleaning Fee of $60 which is due by or on the day of departure.
